Construction crew management software, built for the job site.
WorkTrac is construction crew management software for general contractors, framing, concrete, drywall, roofing, and multi-trade crews. GPS-verified time tracking with geofenced clock-ins, OSHA 300 incident reporting in every tier including Free, a subcontractor portal for bid requests and lien waivers, photo evidence on every task, and offline-first operation for sites with poor cell coverage are built in. Cryptographic work proof signs every clock-in, GPS coordinate, and photo at capture — so certified payroll requests under Davis-Bacon or state prevailing-wage statutes can be answered with a verifiable record rather than a handwritten timesheet. Modular add-on pricing starts at $29/mo and includes a 30-day Enterprise trial with every feature unlocked. The sandbox runs on a demo construction org so contractors can try the platform on realistic data before signing up.
What construction crews actually need to track
The standard construction-crew failure modes are not on most workforce apps' radar. Crews work in dead zones every day. Subs and GCs argue about hours worked. Certified payroll requests arrive with two weeks' notice and need defensible records. OSHA inspections show up unannounced and the safety manager has to produce the 300 log on the spot. WorkTrac was designed around these specific failure modes rather than ported from a desktop dispatcher tool — every feature listed below is what construction crews told us they needed during pilot deployments with framing, concrete, and GC teams.
Davis-Bacon and state prevailing-wage records that pass investigator review. Signed GPS punches per worker per day.
GCs running framing + concrete + drywall + electrical see all subs on one task board with shared photo evidence.
Sub portal collects signed lien waivers tied to invoiced amounts so the GC ships clean paperwork to the client.
Near-miss to fatality logging, photos, witnesses, root cause. PDF and OSHA 300 export ready for the inspector.
Required-photo tasks (concrete pour, electrical rough-in, framing inspection) enforce photo capture before completion.
Climate Safety add-on triggers OSHA-aligned heat-index alerts by job-site coordinates. Documented mitigation.
Prevailing wage defense built into the data model
Construction contractors on public-works projects under Davis-Bacon, state prevailing-wage statutes, or any DOT-funded program have to produce certified payroll showing the hours each worker spent on-site, broken out by classification. A buddy-punched timecard does not survive an audit. The DOL is increasingly aggressive: investigators ask for verifiable records, and a contractor who can only produce handwritten timesheets often pays back wages and penalties even when their actual records are accurate.
WorkTrac's cryptographic work proof chain converts every clock-in into a defensible record. Every punch carries GPS coordinates, accuracy radius, device and server timestamps, the matched geofence ID, and a signature chained to the previous event in the org's history. When the DOL requests certified payroll for a Davis-Bacon project, the contractor exports the signed event log plus the org's public verification key. The investigator runs verification independently — no WorkTrac account, no API key — and confirms that no records were edited after capture. Audits regularly close without a finding even on contested periods because the chain proves the records were not altered.
The same chain holds up under workers' comp claims, OSHA inspections, and billing disputes with GCs or owners. Every common construction-payroll argument moves from "your word against theirs" to "here is the verified record."
Subcontractor portal, not a third-party plugin
Sub Link is WorkTrac's native subcontractor portal — not an add-on, not a separate product, not an integration. Subs get their own login that shows just the tasks they're assigned to, the photos and lien waivers they owe, the bid requests waiting on their response, and their own time submitted for approval. The GC sees everything roll up into the main dashboard.
Six phases of feature work shipped between April and May 2026 covering the full bid → award → execute → invoice → lien-waiver → close-out flow. Subs can submit competitive bids with attached documentation, GCs can compare side-by-side, the awarded sub auto-receives the task in their portal, and lien waivers attach to the invoice line items so the GC ships clean paperwork to the owner without a separate workflow.
Where WorkTrac fits in the construction software stack
Construction contractors usually run a stack: an estimating tool (often AccuLynx, PlanSwift, or just spreadsheets), a project management tool (Procore, Buildertrend, or none), an accounting tool (QuickBooks Online or Sage 100 Contractor), and a payroll tool (Gusto, ADP, or a bookkeeper). WorkTrac sits at the crew-execution layer below project management: time tracking, task execution, OSHA, photo evidence, sub coordination, and the prevailing-wage record. The two-way QuickBooks Online sync (built in) handles invoicing both directions. The payroll export ($19/mo add-on) sends approved timesheets to Gusto, ADP, or Paychex. For contractors already running Procore at the project level, WorkTrac fills in the crew-level execution layer Procore doesn't cover — particularly mobile-first offline work, OSHA in every tier, and the cryptographic record. See the WorkTrac vs Procore comparison page for the side-by-side.
Common questions, answered.
Yes. Every clock-in carries GPS coordinates, accuracy radius, device and server timestamps, and a cryptographic signature chained to the org's event history. The signed event log plus the org's public verification key can be exported and independently verified by a DOL investigator without contacting WorkTrac. This is the difference between a handwritten timesheet that gets challenged in audit and a record that closes the audit cleanly.
